Café Baulas featured in event on ocean action

CoopeTarrazú's Café Baulas was one of the protagonists of the event: Ocean Action: Immersed in Change, which took place at the Convention Center in San José.

This activity brought together representatives of the government, international organizations, the scientific community and private enterprise involved in ocean-related issues.

"We used to see the ocean as something so big that we couldn't hurt it, or that we couldn't manage it well. But today we realize that the ocean is so important that what we really can't do is ignore it," said Franz Tattenbach, Minister of Environment and Energy (MINAE).

Baulas was the official coffee of the activity in recognition of its contribution with its brand to the NGO The Leatherback Trust, which makes important efforts to protect the leatherback sea turtle that washes up on Costa Rican beaches.

"This activity exceeded expectations. We have been congratulated for the alliance, everyone comes to the stand because it attracts their attention. The contribution you are making with the Baulas Blend brand is very important, not only economically but also in terms of projection," explains Elizabeth Solano, director of The Leatherback Trust for Costa Rica.

The forums addressed topics such as the sustainable blue economy, satellite technology for ocean conservation, sustainable use of fishery resources and the fight against ghost fishing.

Colleagues from the Finished Product Department shared with the visitors a stand where they offered a tasting of Baulas coffee and all the information on its environmental impact.

"This is a premium coffee from the Tarrazú region, one of the best brands you can find on the shelf. The consumer can take a product of very good quality, at an affordable price and also helps the conservation of the leatherback turtle," adds Anthony Mora, from CoopeTarrazú's Finished Product.

Baulas Blend is a product with environmental sense, since a percentage of the sales of this brand is directed to this NGO, with which it has maintained a partnership for more than a decade.
