CoopeTarrazú signs agreement with GIZ to strengthen sustainability in the coffee industry

CoopeTarrazú signed an agreement with the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) that aims to strengthen projects aimed at the sustainability of the coffee industry.

This alliance is part of the Transforma-Innova program, which seeks to support our producers in adopting regenerative agricultural practices to address climate change, protect biodiversity, and generate new economic resources.

The memorandum was signed by Juan Carlos Álvarez, General Manager of CoopeTarrazú, and Alberto Vega, Director of the GIZ Transforma-Innova program.

"Through the implementation of a few instruments, the goal is to focus on both the ecological sustainability and economic development of each farm," Vega said.

In this process, producers need the tools to monitor their plantation's income and expenses, how to increase productivity, and what types of investments should be made in the future.

"It's very important that we guide producers toward a culture of financial health, ensuring long-term profitability," Álvarez added.

Sustainability is a fundamental pillar of CoopeTarrazú's management, hence the importance of establishing this type of partnership and continuing to seek new resources.
