CoopeTarrazú, leader in the production and commercialization of coffee in Costa Rica, announced this Friday the launch of Foliarán, a new foliar fertilizer developed from research that seeks to improve coffee production yields.
This multimineral, which combines Zinc, Manganese and Iron, is ideal to be applied in the post-flowering stage of coffee, a crucial moment for the development of bean size.
"The physiological stage of the plant in which it is recommended to apply the product is 30 to 75 days after the main flowering, where studies have shown that the contribution of these microelements has a positive impact on the yield of coffee processing," explains Roberto Naranjo, agronomist engineer of CoopeTarrazú.

Foliarán is the result of years of work and research in collaboration with experts in agronomy, in order to offer coffee growers a tool that optimizes plant nutrition and contributes to the development of a more efficient agriculture.
"It is a product that we have been researching, validating and producing for more than three years. Foliarán is of high quality and will be accessible to CoopeTarrazú associates, something that generates a sense of pride and motivation for us to continue with this and other projects," adds Ana Victoria Elizondo, biotechnologist at CoopeTarrazú's Center for the Development of Organic Alternatives (CEDAO).
CEDAO has been working for more than ten years in favor of innovation in coffee growing in the region, where alternatives are developed for associates and producers of coffee and other crops.
Under the umbrella of CEDAO is the CoopeTarrazú family of BioInputs, which includes products such as Trichofecunda, Biofecunda and BioDegra, available on the market.
Both BioInputs and the new Foliarán product can be purchased at CoopeTarrazú's four Agricultural Input Stores located in Bajo San Juan, San Carlos, San Pablo and Río Conejo.
